How romantic
12.14.05 (10:45 am) [edit]I just heard the most romantic thing ... apparantly the lead actor and actress from "The Notebook" are engaged. How sweet is that? It's a really good movie (Sappy, yes. And also they sleep together before they are married which is bad, but the overall movie has a good message). It is Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling, both of whom I like a lot - I think they are pretty decent at acting.
So, yeah, I thought that was awfully romantic. Although, it does make me wonder about people who act in movies togther. How often does that really happen, anyway? That two people who act together fall in love? Well, happy days for those two, I guess :)
I don't know - I am trying not to be cynical about it. I want to enjoy a romantic love story every once in a while without dwelling on whether or not they have sex before they are married. Because that cropping up in the story can ruin it. But unfortunately that is a part of society these days so it crops up a lot.

Good Movie. Yes, They are engaged. They weren't attracted to each other while the were doing the movie though. It kinda happened afterwards.

Having been around a lot of theatre kids in high school and such, I can vouch for the fact two people ACTING like they are in love can not-infrequently lead to those two people feeling that they actually are in love.
Not that this invalidates the love or anything. I'm just saying I don't think it's all that rare . . . plenty of Hollywood couples have gotten together that way. Also uncommon: directors and lead actresses getting engaged, which seems slightly creepy to me, but who knows!

Yeah, I have heard of a lot of couples who get together during movies. Most of those couples seem to break up after awhile, though. I think an actor or actress who marries another actor or actress is pretty much doomed (I think Ryan Fillipe and Reese aren't gonna make it, even though I like them a lot). It is too much stress for two people in the spotlight to be together long term. Except Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith --- for some reason, they do great!

I don't like it when movies and tv shows make sex so casual and have people do it out of wedlock--I heard some study that the amount of sex on tv has increased like 70% since the nineties. People take that for reality, that everyone is doing it. Now it's nearly impossible to find a guy who hasn't been sleeping around.
